Man arraigned in Ibadan for alleged possession of Oyo State Revenue Ticket

A 31-year-old man, Muyiwa Adebayo, was on Friday arraigned before the Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan for allegedly being in unlawful possession of an Oyo State Internal Revenue ticket.
The defendant was charged with illegal possession of government property after he was reportedly found with the official revenue document at about 11:35 a.m. on 17 June in the Iwo Road area of the city.
According to the prosecution, Inspector Elisha Tellang, Adebayo was unable to offer any legitimate explanation for having the ticket in his possession at the time of his arrest.
The alleged offence is in violation of Section 430 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
Adebayo, whose home address was not provided in court, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Magistrate Moyosore Atanda granted the defendant bail in the sum of ₦200,000, with two sureties in the same amount. One of the sureties must provide proof of tax payment to the Oyo State Government.
The matter was adjourned until 7 July for continuation of hearing.
