LASWA installs state-of-the-art mobility solution to assist physically challenged, elderly

The Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA) has introduced a cutting-edge mobility solution at its Five Cowries Terminal Head Office to enhance accessibility for the physically challenged and elderly.
LASWA’s General Manager, Mr Oluwadamilola Emmanuel, announced the development in a statement on Thursday in Lagos.
According to Emmanuel, the newly installed modern stair lift is designed to ensure that all individuals, regardless of physical ability, can access the authority’s facilities with ease.
“We are thrilled to announce a significant upgrade at our head office in Falomo, Ikoyi!
“This initiative aligns with the Lagos State Government’s T.H.E.M.E.S+ Agenda, which prioritises inclusivity, ensuring that no one is left behind—especially members of the physically challenged community and the elderly.
“Our new stair lift is more than just a piece of equipment; it is a state-of-the-art mobility solution designed to help individuals navigate stairs safely and comfortably.
“This reflects our continuous commitment to providing a welcoming and accessible experience for everyone who visits or interacts with us,” he said.
Emmanuel emphasised that no one should face difficulties in accessing public spaces, noting that the stair lift is just one step towards creating a more inclusive environment.
“We are dedicated to ensuring that the Lagos water transport system and our services remain accessible and user-friendly for all.
“This stair lift is part of LASWA’s broader efforts to enhance its facilities by prioritising safety, convenience, and outstanding service.
“We encourage everyone to take advantage of this new facility! LASWA remains committed to making Lagos’ waterways inclusive, secure, and efficient for all residents,” he added
