Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has announced that the state will host the 2025 edition of the Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards.
Sharing the news on X, the governor expressed enthusiasm over the opportunity, noting that it underscores Lagos’ commitment to nurturing the creative industry both locally and nationally.
Governor Sanwo-Olu described Nollywood as a crucial pillar of Nigeria’s culture, economy, and global profile, while reaffirming his administration’s dedication to supporting the sector’s growth.
He wrote, “I am pleased to share that Lagos will be hosting the 2025 edition of the Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards. This is an opportunity to demonstrate our strong commitment to the creative industry in Lagos and across Nigeria. Nollywood is a vital part of our culture, our economy, and our global identity. We remain dedicated to supporting the creative industry and are ready to make this year’s BON Awards truly memorable.”
The Best of Nollywood Awards is a prestigious event recognising outstanding achievements in the Nigerian film industry and celebrating excellence across acting, directing, production, and other creative fields.
