Lagos, Rome business school partner on public service training

The Lagos State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to developing a world-class public service through a strategic partnership with Rome Business School Nigeria.

This formed the focus of discussions at the second edition of a two-day Executive Leadership Training Programme held in Ikeja, where the Head of Service, Bode Agoro, underscored the importance of continuous capacity building for public servants.

Represented by the Permanent Secretary, Public Service Office, Sunkanmi Oyegbola, Agoro noted that the State is investing in specialised postgraduate programmes to equip senior officers with skills aligned to modern governance demands.

He stressed that the evolving global landscape and rising citizen expectations require innovative and forward-thinking leadership, rather than routine administrative approaches.

Also speaking, the Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Tolani Sule, described the initiative as a strategic step towards achieving the State’s development agenda, adding that the partnership bridges the gap between theory and practical governance.

In his remarks, the General Manager of Rome Business School Nigeria, Olalekan Asunmo, said the training is designed to deliver practical, solution-driven strategies that will enhance service delivery across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies.

The programme, which features industry experts and academic facilitators, is expected to further position Lagos as a leader in public sector excellence in Africa.
