Lagos completes Chevron-Admiralty road rehabilitation 14 days ahead of schedule

Lagos state Governor, Dr Babajide Sanwo-Olu has announced the successful completion of the rehabilitation work on the 9km stretch from Chevron to Admiralty along the Lekki–Ajah corridor, Lagos-bound. 

In a significant win for commuters, the project was delivered in just 27 days, beating the original 41-day timeline by two full weeks. 

The Governor noted that the accelerated pace was a direct response to the heavy daily traffic burdens faced by residents and motorists using that critical axis.

The completed work is a vital segment of a much larger infrastructure intervention covering a 28km corridor from the Lekki–Ajah Bridge to Admiralty, spanning both carriageways. 

By adopting a phased delivery approach, the state government aims to minimize prolonged disruptions while modernizing the road surface. 

Following the handover of the Lagos-bound lane, the Governor confirmed that work on the Epe-bound lane is slated to begin shortly to complete the circuit.

To ensure continued order during the next phases of construction, the state will maintain active traffic management protocols and deploy specialized personnel to the area. 

Governor Sanwo-Olu expressed his gratitude to Lagosians for their patience and cooperation during the intensive 27-day period, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to monitoring progress closely until the entire 28km stretch is fully rehabilitated.
