The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has congratulated former Lagos East Senator, Gbenga Ashafa, on his 70th birthday, describing him as a statesman of distinction and a model of principled leadership.
In a statement issued Tuesday by the party’s spokesperson, Seye Oladejo, the Lagos APC praised Ashafa’s legacy of public service, noting that his contributions to governance and the development of Lagos remain exemplary.
“Senator Ashafa is an illustrious son of Lagos and a distinguished public servant whose life has been marked by discipline, humility, and unwavering commitment to progressivism,” the party stated.
Ashafa, who served two terms as Senator representing Lagos East, was commended for his legislative focus on infrastructure development, housing, urban planning, and transportation critical sectors for Lagos and Nigeria’s economic advancement.
“His tenure in the National Assembly was characterized by integrity, thoughtfulness, and a genuine concern for the welfare of his constituents,” the APC added.
The party also described Ashafa as a loyal party stalwart and a bridge-builder whose contributions have helped strengthen the APC both within Lagos and at the national level. His experience and calm leadership style were highlighted as invaluable to the party and the next generation of leaders.
“At 70, Senator Ashafa remains a beacon of responsible leadership and a symbol of statesmanship. We celebrate his achievements, character, and continued service,” the statement said.
The APC offered prayers for continued health and long life for Ashafa, wishing him many more years of service to the nation and humanity.
