The Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing former Speaker of the Zamfara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Sanusi Garba Rikiji, as Director-General of the Nigerian Office for Trade Negotiations (NOTN).

In a statement issued by the party’s spokesperson, Malam Yusuf Idris Gusau, the party described the appointment as a significant honour to Zamfara State and the local APC leadership.

“We express our profound gratitude to Almighty Allah and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the appointment of one of our own, Right Honourable Sanusi Garba Rikiji, as Director-General of the NOTN,” the statement read. “This appointment reflects Mr. President’s love and confidence in Zamfara and its people.”

Rikiji, a former Chief of Staff to ex-Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, previously served as Commissioner of Finance in Zamfara State. The party credited him with boosting revenue generation, attracting foreign investment, and revitalising the state’s economic sectors during his tenure.

The Zamfara APC, under the leadership of Hon. Tukur Umar Danfulani, pledged continued loyalty to President Tinubu and his Renewed Hope Agenda.

The party urged Rikiji to remain a worthy ambassador of the state and play a key role in reshaping Nigeria’s trade environment through innovative and visionary ideas.

“We are confident that Rikiji will promote the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda by advancing trade negotiations and fostering a more progressive trading environment,” the statement added.

The party also assured President Tinubu that the new appointee would deliver on his national responsibilities and prayed for divine guidance and protection for the president as he leads the country toward progress.
