The Kwara State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the immediate suspension of its Moro Local Government Party Chairman, Alhaji Abdulganiyu Musa.
The disciplinary action follows allegations of gross misconduct and other related offenses brought against him by local party officials.
The decision was finalized during the 4th meeting of the State Working Committee (SWC) at the party’s secretariat in Ilorin, a session presided over by the State Chairman, Hon. Isa Bawa Adamu.
The Party leadership clarified that the suspension was executed in accordance with Sections 58 and 59 of the PDP Constitution to preserve the integrity of the party’s local administrative structures.
Alhaji Musa has been suspended for an initial period of one month, during which his case has been referred to the State Disciplinary Committee for a comprehensive investigation.
This committee, headed by the State Deputy Chairperson, Chief Mrs. Wosilat Atinuke Macarthy, is tasked with ensuring due process and providing the embattled chairman an opportunity to defend himself under the fair hearing provisions of the party’s statutes.
While the suspension remains in effect, Musa is prohibited from parading himself as the Moro Local Government Chairman or performing any official duties associated with the office.
He has been directed to hand over all party properties, documents, and assets in his possession to the Vice Chairman, who will assume leadership in an acting capacity to ensure the continued administration of party affairs in the area.
The formal communication of this decision was conveyed through a letter signed by the State Secretary, Hon. Abdulrahman Abdullahi Kayode.
The Kwara State PDP reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining internal discipline and accountability, stating that adherence to constitutional guidelines is essential for upholding the party’s democratic ideals and strengthening its internal cohesion.
