Former Kano State Governor and vice presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has called on Nigerians to support the joint presidential ticket of Peter Obi and himself as official campaigning for the 2027 general elections commences.
Kwankwaso made the call in a statement addressed to citizens on Wednesday night.
He urged voters to reflect deeply on the current socioeconomic realities of the country, highlighting economic hardship, rising food inflation, high operational costs for businesses, widespread youth unemployment and persistent security challenges.
Kwankwaso stressed that the alliance between Peter Obi and himself under the NDC platform transcends regional, religious or personal ambitions, describing it as a unified project dedicated to national renewal and transparent governance.
“Our partnership is not about region, religion or personal ambition. It is about Nigeria,” Kwankwaso stated.
“We believe in a country where government serves the people, where hard work is rewarded, where young people can build successful futures at home, and where every citizen has a fair opportunity to prosper,” he added.
He called on women, workers, farmers, entrepreneurs, and youth to reject divisive politics, focus on issue-based leadership, and actively participate in electing competent leaders.
Kwankwaso further appealed to all political actors and supporters to conduct their campaign activities peacefully, responsibly, and in accordance with established national guidelines.
