A former Kano governor and presidential candidate of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) in the 2023 elections, Rabiu Kwankwaso has assured his supporters that his decisions will focus on their collective welfare as the 2027 elections approach.
In a statement issued on Monday in Kano, Kwankwaso expressed gratitude to his “social media family” and loyal supporters for their continued backing of his movement.
“I extend my deepest and most heartfelt gratitude to our vibrant social media family, loyal supporters, and all well-wishers who continue to stand firmly by our noble cause,” he said, praising their resilience and dedication to service, integrity, and people-centered progress.
Kwankwaso emphasised that his actions will prioritise the welfare of the people, particularly the youth. “Rest assured, we shall remain steadfast in our duty to serve, making decisions that uplift and benefit our entire people, with special focus and priority on our loyal youth,” he added.
Amid speculation about possible political realignments, Kwankwaso has hinted at potential alliances with either the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) or the African Democratic Congress (ADC), with reports suggesting ongoing talks with ADC leaders.
The development comes as the NNPP navigates internal divisions and the approach of the 2027 elections, with Kwankwaso signalling his commitment to his supporters while keeping strategic options open.
