The Kogi West FGYB Legacy Group, comprising stakeholders from the seven Local Government Areas of Kogi West Senatorial District, has officially endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for a second term in office.
The endorsement followed a strategic meeting held in Kabba on Saturday, where the group passed a vote of confidence on both leaders for what they described as their transformational leadership and people-oriented governance.
The communiqué issued at the end of the meeting was jointly signed by Hon. Kingsley Olorunfemi Fanwo, Chairman of the Drafting Committee; Barr. Tanko Mohammed, Secretary; and Hon. Shaibu Ipinmisho, Member.
The stakeholders praised President Tinubu’s bold economic reforms, energy sector stabilisation efforts, and infrastructure expansion across the nation. They pledged to deliver over 90 percent of votes from Kogi West in subsequent elections to ensure the continuation of his Renewed Hope Agenda.
Governor Ododo also received commendation for what the group called impactful governance — with visible progress in infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, youth and women empowerment, and humanitarian development.
The communiqué particularly highlighted the Governor’s strategic efforts in strengthening security, maintaining peace across Kogi West, and ensuring timely government response to troubled areas.
Projects commended by the group include the Kogi State University, Kabba, the Model Secondary School, Okebukun, the Township Road reconstruction projects in Mopa and Ayetoro Gbede, and the College of Education (Technical), Mopa.
Traditional rulers, community leaders, and residents were urged to continue supporting government peace and development efforts. The stakeholders reaffirmed their total loyalty to President Tinubu and Governor Ododo’s administrations and pledged to mobilise citizens for ongoing voter registration exercises.
Speaking at the meeting, the APC Chairman in Kogi State, Hon. Abdullahi Bello, described the All Progressives Congress as a party for progressive and loyal leaders. He commended former Governor Yahaya Bello for laying a solid foundation for the Ododo administration, and urged members to remain united and wary of self-serving politicians.
Bello also applauded President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, encouraging sustained support for both leaders.
Commissioners from Kogi West — Hon. Wemi Jones (Education), Hon. Asiwaju Idris (Finance and Budget Planning), and Hon. Olusegun Joseph (Environment and Ecological Management) — equally lauded the achievements of Tinubu and Ododo, describing them as unprecedented in recent years.
The meeting was attended by Commissioners, Local Government Chairmen, Assembly Members, Federal Lawmakers, and other political appointees from Kogi West, including former Senator Smart Adeyemi.
Other signatories representing the seven LGAs include: Rt. Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf, Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly (Lokoja LGA); Cdr. Jerry Omodara (rtd), State Security Adviser (Kabba/Bunu); Dr. Mrs. Folashade Ayoade, Secretary to the State Government (Yagba East); Hon.
