The Executive Chairman of Mopamuro Local Government Area, Hon. Ademola Bello, has presented a proposed budget of N7,082,870,940 to the council legislatures for consideration and approval.

Tagged the “Budget of Hope and Prosperity”, the plan is designed to improve the living standards of Mopamuro residents, with a particular focus on social development, infrastructure, youth and women empowerment, and local security.

In a statement signed by Olowu Juwon, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Chairman, Bello highlighted key allocations: personnel cost – N1.79 billion, overhead cost – N1.81 billion, and capital projects – N3.48 billion.

The statement reads partly: “The budget aims to upgrade roads, markets, and public facilities to enhance infrastructure development.

“It focuses on social development by improving education, healthcare, and social services across the local government.

“Economic growth is central to this budget, with plans to empower youth and women, promote entrepreneurship, and attract investments to Mopamuro.

“Security remains a top priority; the administration will strengthen local security architecture to provide a safe environment for all residents.”

Chairman Bello assured citizens of his commitment to prioritising welfare, ensuring timely salary payments, and enhancing the overall quality of life in the local government area.

Legislative Council Leader, Rt. Hon. Odunayo Olupeka, pledged the council’s support for the successful implementation of the budget, promising thorough oversight and transparency in all projects.

Bello further urged residents to collaborate with his administration in tackling criminal activities and making Mopamuro a model local government in Kogi State.

He also praised Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for his unwavering support in strengthening local government security infrastructure, which he said forms a key part of the budget’s vision.
