Kidnappers demand ₦30M for two siblings

…release driver, mother’s corpse in Benue
Unknown gunmen have demanded a thirty million naira ransom for two siblings that they are holding hostage.
Recall that tragedy struck a bereaved family in Benue State after they were ambushed and kidnapped while transporting their late mother’s remains for burial.
The family was traveling from Abuja to Oklenyi in the Okpokwu Local Government Area when their vehicle broke down along the Otukpo–Ogobia Road, leaving them vulnerable to armed attackers.
The gunmen have since released the driver, the corpse of the elderly woman, and one of her three children.
According to family sources, the remains of the deceased mother have been transported to Okpoga, where funeral arrangements are currently proceeding.
While the family is relieved to have recovered their mother’s body for a proper burial, they are left in distress over the fate of the remaining siblings in captivity.
As of the time of this report, the Benue State Police Command has not yet released an official statement regarding the kidnapping.
