Kaduna Police crack down on vehicles without number plates

The Police Command in Kaduna State has commenced strict enforcement against vehicles operating without registration number plates or with defaced, concealed, altered, or covered plates across the state.

The command said the move followed a directive by the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, aimed at strengthening security and enhancing effective policing nationwide.

In a statement issued on Thursday in Kaduna, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Mansir Hassan, said all vehicle owners and operators must ensure their vehicles were properly registered and fitted with valid registration number plates.

He advised motorists to keep their registration numbers clearly visible and uncovered at all times.

According to him, any vehicle found operating without number plates or with plates that were defaced, concealed, altered, or illegible will face appropriate enforcement action in accordance with the law.

“The command urges members of the public to comply with this directive to avoid unnecessary inconvenience and to support collective efforts aimed at enhancing security across the state,” he said.

The command reiterated its commitment to maintaining law and order and called on residents to support ongoing measures designed to improve public safety and security.
