Operatives of the Nigeria Police on Wednesday sealed the National Secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at Wadata Plaza, Abuja, following violent clashes between rival party factions the previous day.
The turmoil erupted on Tuesday when supporters of the Saminu Turaki-led faction confronted members loyal to the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, during a planned meeting at the secretariat.
The confrontation quickly escalated, forcing security operatives to intervene.
During the chaos, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and his Bauchi counterpart, Bala Mohammed, were reportedly teargassed as they tried to navigate the fracas.
