Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani on Tuesday met with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the State House Abuja.

The Governor met with the President to brief him on key issues regarding the State.

During the meeting, Governor Sani expressed gratitude to the President for his unwavering support to Kaduna State, particularly in agriculture and agribusiness, stating that Kaduna has emerged as a national pacesetter with the establishment of a Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zone (SAPZ) and an African Quality Assurance Centre (AQAC).

These institutions according to Sani will serve as catalytic anchors for modern agribusiness, export competitiveness, and the expansion of agricultural value chains across Northern Nigeria and the wider Sahel.

The Governor also briefed the President on Kaduna’s transportation modernization agenda, including the Light Rail initiative and Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system, which he noted will redefine mobility, productivity, and economic integration in the state.

Sani noted that the BRT system is the second of its kind in Nigeria, after Lagos, and will have a significant impact on the state’s economy.

He said, “’President Tinubu reaffirmed his strong support for Kaduna’s efforts to deepen peace and security, and his commitment to completing key federal infrastructure projects, notably the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano expressway.

“The President was also gratified to learn that agriculture remains the cornerstone of Kaduna’s development strategy, as reflected in the proposed 2026 budget, where sectoral allocations will exceed the Malabo Declaration benchmark of dedicating at least 10% of total public expenditure to agriculture.“

Governor Sani described the meeting as productive and highly rewarding, stating that it was a testament to the strong partnership between the Federal Government and Kaduna State.

He expressed optimism that the President’s commitment to completing the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano expressway will have a significant impact on the country’s economy and development upon completion.

Responding, President Tinubu thanked Sani for the visit and gave assurances on the completion of Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano expressway, a key federal infrastructure project.
