Joint Security Forces neutralize bandits, destroy camps in major air offensive

The Kogi State Government has announced a significant breakthrough in its war against terrorism, following a series of precision strikes that led to the destruction of bandit camps and the neutralization of numerous criminals over the weekend.

The operation was executed by a combined team of the Nigerian Army, Navy, Air Force, DSS, and NSCDC, with critical air support provided by the Nigeria Police Force Air Wing.

In a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Femi Fanwo, the government disclosed that the coordinated air and ground offensive successfully dismantled criminal networks and left several bandits with varying degrees of injury.

According to the statement, the operation was strategically coordinated by the Kogi State Government with support from the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA).

"Initial feedback from affected communities has shown renewed confidence in the capacity and commitment of our security forces to decisively end banditry and kidnapping," Fanwo stated.

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has reaffirmed his resolve to wipe out criminal elements from the state, assuring that no resource will be spared in achieving total security.

The Governor expressed profound appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the National Security Adviser, and the Service Chiefs for their uncompromising commitment to the safety of Kogi State.

The government has urged residents to volunteer credible intelligence to security agencies.

Additionally, all health institutions and members of the public have been directed to promptly report any individuals presenting with gunshot wounds, to aid in tracking fleeing criminals injured during the operation.
