The Chairman of Babura Local Government Council, Hon. Hamisu Muhammad Garu, has outlined a series of concrete measures aimed at addressing the persistent challenge of out-of-school children within the area.
Hon. Garu disclosed these plans shortly after convening a stakeholders’ meeting dedicated to devising strategies for improving school enrolment and retention rates.
According to the Chairman, the council has adopted a multi-pronged approach that includes sustained financial support for educational initiatives and aggressive public enlightenment campaigns to sensitize parents and guardians on the value of education.
He noted that the administration is focused on identifying the specific root causes of low enrolment to develop practical, home-grown solutions.
To ensure effective implementation, the Chairman announced the constitution of sub-committees comprising district and village heads, officials from the education department, and other relevant stakeholders.
These committees are charged with driving the initiative at the grassroots level.
Hon. Garu urged parents and guardians to align with the vision of the state governor, His Excellency, Governor Umar Namadi (FCA), by prioritizing their children’s education to secure a brighter future for the state.
In a separate development, the Kazaure Local Government Council has sworn in Hon. Bello Sani as its new Council Secretary.
The oath of office was administered by Magistrate Umar Murtala in accordance with the law.
During the ceremony, the Chairman of Kazaure Local Government Council, Hon. Mansur Usman Dabuwa, charged the new appointee to discharge his official duties with honesty and strict adherence to the rule of law.
Chairman Dabuwa used the occasion to reiterate his administration’s readiness to accelerate developmental projects in the area. He highlighted that the council’s proposed budget for the coming fiscal year is designed to significantly improve the living standards of the people.
According to Dabuwa, the 2026 fiscal budget prioritizes the provision of potable water, healthcare services, educational development, agriculture, and economic empowerment.
He solicited the maximum cooperation of the residents to enable the council to achieve these objectives.
Responding shortly after taking his oath, the new Secretary, Hon. Bello Sani, pledged his commitment to contributing his quota towards the development of the Kazaure Local Government Area.
