A couple is currently on the run after the members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, launched a search on them.
IPOB, a pro-Biafra group is under the leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu who has been in detention for years now.
The group was declared a terrorist organisation by the Nigerian Government after they formed a militant wing, Eastern Security Network.
Most of the activities of the unknown gunmen in the South-East and part of South-South is linked to the group.
Many innocent lives, including that of security operatives have been lost to the group.
The man, Ugonna Alphonsius Okafor and his wife, Ngachigraia Chima Grace became subject of attack by the IPOB members after he pulled out of the group and was consequently branded him as saboteur.”
Some of the IPOB member has deviated from the original purpose, to the extent that some of them now deal in hard drugs and commit all manner of crimes.
“He survived a deadly attack by the group just by miracles, and since then they have been searching for Ugonna and his wife; they branded him saboteur.”
Another source hinted that during an attack by the ESN on his community, no less than five persons were murdered, with houses set ablaze.
“It was a day of terror as they started shooting sporadically when they could not find him.
Chief Obialor also disclosed that his name was also in the list of the wanted IPOB members by the police.
He described it as double jeopardy for the couple.
Meanwhile, when contacted, the spokesman of the DSP Henry Okoenyi PPRO Imo state police command confirmed that Ugonna was on their wanted list.
“Yes, we declared him wanted alongside 12 others. They are members of the outlawed IPOB.
“We shall get them no matter how long they run,” he said in response to an enquiry by our correspondent.
