The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has confirmed that 2,449,475 Nigerians have completed continuous voter registration (CVR) as of Wednesday, combining both online and physical registration processes.
According to INEC, 1,425,898 individuals completed the online pre-registration, while 1,023,577 finalised their registration through physical capture.
Osun State led the nation with 193,026 completed registrations, followed by Imo (144,209) and Kano (142,433). Other top-performing states included Sokoto (132,584), Lagos (115,334), and Borno (112,226). The Federal Capital Territory reported 106,855 registrations.
Kogi recorded 97,012 registrations, Jigawa 95,543, and Zamfara 90,739. Katsina posted 87,661, Kaduna 82,421, while Delta, Kebbi, and Ogun recorded 79,495, 77,721, and 77,014 registrations respectively.
Other states with notable figures include Oyo (68,559), Akwa Ibom (68,464), and Rivers (63,621). Registration in Anambra remains suspended in line with Section 9(6) of the Electoral Act 2022, following its recent governorship election.
The exercise, which began on August 18, 2025, is scheduled to conclude in August 2026. South-Western states, particularly Osun and Lagos, have consistently led in registration numbers, while northern states are showing increased participation, driven by community mobilisation, religious leaders, and local officials promoting voter awareness.
INEC officials continue to urge eligible Nigerians across the country to complete their voter registration before the CVR exercise ends next year.
