INEC debunks fake Lagos APC candidates list for 2027

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has debunked a fake public notice circulating on social media listing All Progressives Congress (APC), candidates for Lagos Federal House of Representatives seats for the 2027 elections.

This was contained in a statement issued on Monday by INEC.

According to the commission, “The document is fake, misleading and did not emanate from INEC.” 

INEC further noted it has not authorised or published any such notice and the purported publication does not originate from any official INEC platform or process.

“The signature appearing on the document does not belong to the Secretary to the Commission and is therefore fraudulent,” the commission declared.

The commission further urged the public, political parties and media to disregard the document and rely only on its official channels.
