Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has stated that one of the most fulfilling parts of making music is knowing that his songs inspire confidence in people who struggle with self-worth and motivation.

The singer shared this during an interview with a music platform while breaking down the lyrics of his song, “I Know Who I Be”.

He explained that the track serves as a reminder that everyone has a unique life journey and should embrace it instead of trying to live someone else’s story.

He also noted that one of the defining qualities of African music is that it remains danceable regardless of the subject matter.

Reflecting on the music video, Davido described it as a full-circle moment, recalling how he and his friends used to sneak out to make music and perform at shows eventually returning to shoot a video in the very place where they once had to hide.
