Ignore Adeleke’s calculated propaganda, I am Tinubu’s anointed candidate — Oyebamiji

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the upcoming August 15, 2026 election in Osun State, Asiwajy Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, has declared that he remains the sole candidate endorsed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the forthcoming poll.
Oyebamiji made this assertion during the inauguration of 7,830 polling unit canvassers across the Ifedayo, Ila, and Boluwaduro Federal Constituency areas.
During his address, he dismissed ongoing claims that President Tinubu had thrown his weight behind the incumbent governor, Ademola Adeleke.
Addressing party supporters, the APC flagbearer described reports of Tinubu’s alleged endorsement of Adeleke as false and part of a calculated propaganda campaign by the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The APC candidate, who attended the event alongside his running mate, Engr. Benjamin Kayode Adereti, assured residents that his administration would be guided by fairness, justice, accountability, transparency, and the equitable distribution of resources.
He noted that the claim that the President has endorsed the incumbent governor is false, designed only to mislead the electorate, and should be completely disregarded.
The event also featured the reception of several defectors into the APC, including notable opposition politicians Hon. Ganiyu Ajiboye and Hon. Sulaiman Oladoye Salawu, who both pledged their full support for the party’s gubernatorial campaign.
Speaking on the significance of the canvassers’ inauguration, Oyebamiji described the initiative as a major step toward strengthening the party’s grassroots mobilization across the 332 political wards and 30 local government areas, including the Ife-East Area Office in Modakeke.
He stated that the exercise marks a significant milestone in reawakening the consciousness of the electorate and expressed confidence that the resolute canvassers would secure victory by wrestling power from the incumbent government.
Earlier in the program, the Director-General of the Osun APC Governorship Election Campaign Council, Hon. Oluwole Oke, charged the newly inaugurated canvassers to remain committed to the party’s victory project, describing the network of canvassers as a strategic tool for securing votes across the state.
Similarly, the National Commissioner of the Federal Civil Service Commission representing Osun and Oyo States, Dr. Festus Oyebade Olowogboyega, alongside the former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Prince Adebayo Adeleke, urged residents to support Oyebamiji’s governorship bid.
The duo strongly criticized the administration of Governor Adeleke, alleging that the affairs of the state were being run like a private family enterprise.
They assured residents that an APC-led government under Oyebamiji would instead pursue inclusive, participatory, and people-oriented governance.
The ceremony attracted several top APC leaders and stakeholders, including the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Protocol, Alhaji Issah Niniola; Osun ALGON Chairman, Hon. Samuel Idowu Abiodun; former Commissioner for Commerce, Dr. Bode Olaonipekun; former Director-General of the Bureau of Social Services, Hon. Richard Tinubu; and the APC House of Representatives candidate for Ila Federal Constituency, Dr. Adebisi Obawale, among other prominent party chieftains.
