Ifako-Ijaiye council completes rehabilitation of 6 major roads

The Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government Administration says it has completed six major road rehabilitation across the council area to improve transportation and ease movement of residents.

The Council’s Chairman, Mr Usman Hamzat, made this known in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Lateef Salaam, on Thursday.

Hamzat said that the projects were part of ongoing efforts of urban renewal and infrastructural transformation in Ifako-Ijaiye.

He said that the roads were delivered simultaneously during the first year of his second term in office.

The completed roads included Olufemi Ajayi Street in Ward C2, Olayiwola Street in Ward A and Omo Ojuile Street in Ward E.

Others are Suarau Oladipupo Street in Ward D, Adeshina Avenue in Ward D and Abdullahi Street in Ward E.

Hamzat said that the interventions were designed to enhance vehicular connectivity, reduce travel time and boost local economic activities.

“Our objective remains clear: to construct durable, high-quality infrastructure that seamlessly serves every resident of Ifako-Ijaiye.

“The simultaneous execution and delivery of these roads demonstrate our resolve to maximise public resources for maximum civic benefit,” he said.

The chairman said that work was progressing on other road projects across the local government and more deliveries would follow shortly.

He urged residents, motorists and community leaders to protect the infrastructure by keeping drainage channels clear and avoiding indiscriminate refuse disposal.

Hamzat reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to making Ifako-Ijaiye a benchmark for modern municipal development in Lagos State.
