Idris empowers 340 Kebbi students in India with laptops

Gov. Nasir Idris of Kebbi has distributed 340 brand new laptops to students of the state currently studying in India.
The Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Gov. Idris, Malam Yahaya Sarki, made this known in a statement he issued on Saturday in Birnin Kebbi .
He said that the distribution took place on Friday at Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, India during a colourful ceremony.
Sarki said Idris, represented by his Special Adviser on Special Duties, Alhaji Shafiu Zauro, said the gesture was part of his administration’s commitment to equipping the students with essential learning tools to ease their academic pursuits.
“ This intervention by the education-friendly governor is in line with his sustained efforts to support and motivate Kebbi students studying abroad.
“ As people of the state are aware, Gov. Idris had fully settled the tuition and scholarship fees of all our students in tertiary institutions both at home and abroad.
“ As a former classroom teacher and unionist, it is not surprising that he is taking bold steps to reform the education sector,” he said.
Sarki quoted the Governor as urging the students to be good ambassadors of Kebbi and Nigeria by excelling academically and upholding moral values.
” The management of the university also commended Idris for his continued support and care for Kebbi students in the institution.
” Since assuming office in 2023, the governor has consistently sponsored the payment of tuition and scholarship fees for Kebbi students in Nigeria and abroad.
” This is in addition to settling the WAEC examination fees for Secondary School students across the state,” the Sarki said.
