…Thanks supporters, vows to sustain peace after suspension

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has pledged not to take President Bola Tinubu’s kindness for granted, declaring that peace and normalcy have returned to the state.

The governor made this known on Friday while addressing a large crowd of supporters at the Government House, Port Harcourt, shortly after returning from his six-month suspension imposed by President Tinubu.

Governor Fubara, who was visibly emotional, expressed appreciation to his loyalists and the people of Rivers State for standing by him during the political crisis. He said their support was pivotal to restoring stability in the state.

“I appreciate everyone who gave support to bring normalcy back to Rivers State. I know everybody wants to hear something from me. In fact, I expected it when I landed,” Fubara said.

He further assured the people of his commitment to delivering good governance, promising not to betray their trust.

“We will, by the grace of God, continue to give those things that made you people love us. I won’t take President Tinubu’s kindness for granted,” he declared.

The governor was received by a jubilant crowd of supporters who thronged the Government House to celebrate his reinstatement, chanting solidarity songs and displaying banners of loyalty.
