Osun 2026: Don’t make enemies but win people over – Omisore tells Supporters

The Immediate past National Secretary and leading gubernatorial aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming governorship election in Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore, has charged his supporters ahead of the party primary election not to make enemies with anyone in the party.

Instead, Senator Omisore charged his supporters to build a robust relationship with members of the party.

Addressing former members of the Local Government Education Authority Board who served during Governor Gboyega Oyetola’s tenure at his campaign office in Osogbo on Thursday, Omisore urged them to go back to their different wards to win people over and not fight with them.

“Our party primary will hold in November. When you get back home, let’s start working with the people ahead of the primary. Let’s make friendship across the board, don’t look at age or status everyone in the party matters.”

“Two wrongs cannot make a right. Let’s win people over to our side and work with them. After the party primary, we are going to the general elections.”

“Make sure you also join them for the ongoing voter registration at the local government level,” He stated. 

Speaking on behalf of the 250 members present at the meeting, former Chairman of the Central Working Committee of the Local Government Education Authority Board, Dr. Victor Olaniyi said they have agreed to return home and work at the party level to ensure Senator Omisore’s success in becoming the APC flag bearer.

Olaniyi boasted that APC will return to Osun government house with credible flag bearer of the party come 2026.

He said, “We listened to all the discussions with great attention and we have agreed to go and work for the party in our different locations.”

“What we have been experiencing since we left office leaves much to be desired in Osun. There is no effective government in Osun State for now.”

“When we return, we will correct all the wrongdoings. We are going to move Osun forward, with President Bola Tinubu’s support and the party’s structure in place, the APC will ensure that Osun is transformed into a better place,” he added.

APC chieftain and former Commissioner for Education in Osun, Hon. Folorunso Bamisayemi, urged them to give full support to Senator Omisore to emerge as the party’s candidate and win with a landslide victory in the 2026 governorship election.
