Senator Iyiola Omisore has declared war on the report that disqualified him from the Osun State APC governorship primary, dismissing the document as the biggest joke of the year and a product of high-level manipulation.

The former APC National Secretary, who is battling to secure the party’s ticket, accused the screening panel of buckling under pressure to clear the coast for an anointed aspirant.

Speaking in Abuja on Saturday after facing the Appeal Committee, Omisore alleged that the screening chairman admitted to acting under duress.

”The Chairman told us he was under pressure to disqualify us,” Omisore revealed, suggesting a calculated plot to stifle competition. “It is unfortunate that partisanship has been taken too far. We are aware that multiple reports were written, and the one submitted was not the original.”

Omisore argued that the grounds for his disqualification were fabricated, noting that neither he nor the six other affected aspirants were officially notified of their specific offenses.

He specifically faulted the claim regarding invalid nominators, stating that the party had all the necessary data to verify members without disqualifying candidates.

The aspirant warned the national leadership that the Osun chapter is sitting on a keg of gunpowder.

Citing the panel’s own admission of deep internal fissures, he asked, “The committee’s report itself admits the party is factionalized and risks losing the election. If they know this, why are they playing games?”

Omisore expressed optimism that the Appeal Committee would redeem the party’s image by setting aside the disqualification, which he described as a procedural failure lacking in credibility.
