The All Progressives Congress (APC) has rescheduled the National Caucus and National Executive Committee (NEC) meetings.
The meetings, which were initially fixed for 15 and 16 December 2025, will now hold on 18 and 19 December, according to a notice released on Sunday.
The announcement was contained in an official document titled “Change of Meeting Dates”, issued by the party’s National Secretary, Senator Surajudeen Basiru, and shared on his X (formerly Twitter) handle.
Basiru stated that the National Caucus will convene on Thursday, 18 December, at 6:00 p.m., while the NEC meeting will follow on Friday, 19 December, at 3:00 p.m. Both engagements will take place at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The notice stressed that the invitation was issued in line with Articles 12.3 and 13.3 of the APC Constitution, which detail the structure and membership of the Caucus and the NEC.
According to the document, the National Caucus brings together senior party figures, including the President and the Vice President of Nigeria, former APC presidents and vice presidents, current and past APC governors, as well as representatives from the six geo-political zones.
The NEC, described as the party’s highest decision-making body between conventions, consists of the National Chairman; the Deputy National Chairmen for the North and the South; the National Secretary and Deputy National Secretary; and the National Legal Adviser and Deputy Legal Adviser. Also listed as NEC members are the National Treasurer and Deputy Treasurer, the National Organising Secretary, the National Financial Secretary, the National Publicity Secretary, the National Women Leader, the National Youth Leader, their deputies, all state chairmen, zonal representatives, and members elected at the National Convention.
The shift in dates comes just days after the APC first announced the original schedule, which would have been the party’s first major national gathering in more than a year. The notice did not offer any explanation for the change.
“All members are by this invitation to take notice of the meeting in accordance with Article 11.5 of the Constitution,” the statement added.
