In a major boost for Nigeria’s agribusiness sector, Beta Agric Ventures has secured a N250 million investment offer at the just concluded 8th Nigeria Diaspora Investment Summit (NDIS).
The funding was clinched by Adaora Akojume following a compelling pitch on her company’s tomato paste processing model, which stood out during the competitive Agribusiness session. The investment offer came from Mr. Christopher Obode, a diaspora investor based in New Jersey, United States.
Reacting to the development, the Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, described the N250 million deal as a validation of the summit’s potential to drive real economic growth.
”This N250 million investment is evidence that the NDIS is not just a talk show, but a platform for practical business marriages and wealth creation,” Dabiri-Erewa stated.
She emphasized that such collaborations between Nigerians at home and those in the diaspora are essential for stimulating innovation and cementing trust.
The pitch session, which focused on innovative agri-value chains and export models, saw Akojume’s Beta Agric Ventures rise above 50 other pitchers.
Beyond the monetary success, her product received endorsements from various investors committed to promoting it in future markets.
The summit, held from November 11 to 13, 2025, continues to bridge the gap between diaspora capital and local opportunities, with this latest N250 million deal serving as a benchmark for future editions.
