H1 2026: NGX Group declares N14.76bn pre-tax profit, N1.30 interim dividend

Nigerian Exchange Group Plc (NGX Group) has announced a record financial performance for the first half of 2026 ended June 30, with profit before tax surging by 170 percent to N14.76 billion compared to N5.46 billion recorded in the corresponding period of 2025.
Following the impressive results, the Board of Directors approved an interim dividend of N1.30 per ordinary share, reflecting strong cash generation, earnings quality, and ongoing confidence in the Group’s growth trajectory.
Profit after tax rose by 146 percent to N10.36 billion from N4.22 billion in H1 2025, while total revenue grew by 118 percent to N17.60 billion from N8.08 billion.
Total income increased by 96 percent to N19.34 billion, supported primarily by a 169 percent surge in transaction fees to N13.34 billion, a 59 percent increase in listing fees to N2.38 billion, and a 19 percent rise in technology income to N447.86 million.
Operating profit surged by 155 percent to N10.62 billion, driven by strong operating leverage as revenue expansion outpaced growth in operating expenses.
Additionally, the Group recorded a 130 percent rise in its share of profit from equity-accounted investees, reaching N4.14 billion, propelled largely by the strong performance of Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc.
NGX Group’s balance sheet strengthened further over the period, with total assets expanding to N75.87 billion as of June 30, 2026, while shareholders’ equity rose to N60.49 billion from N55.20 billion at the end of 2025.
Commenting on the results, Group Chairman Umaru Kwairanga noted that the approval of the interim dividend demonstrates the strength of the Group’s operational execution and its commitment to delivering value to shareholders while maintaining adequate capital for infrastructure and technology investments.
Also commenting, the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Temi Popoola added that the growth across transaction fees, listing income, and investee contributions highlights the scalability of NGX Group’s business model as it continues to expand liquidity and develop technology-driven products across Nigeria’s capital market.
