…Hails Gov Oyebanji’s performance
The Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, on Tuesday commissioned several people-oriented projects executed by his Ekiti State counterpart, Governor Biodun Oyebanji, at Ilawe-Ekiti.
Among the projects commissioned were the Ikere–Ilawe Road and the renovated and fully equipped General Hospital, Ilawe-Ekiti.
Governor Ododo, who was warmly received by the people of the “Fountain of Knowledge,” praised Governor Oyebanji for what he described as “visible, impactful, and inspiring achievements” in the last three years.
He said: “Today’s event is not just about commissioning projects; it is about celebrating vision, leadership, and the undying spirit of service to the people.
“These projects reflect the heartbeat of good governance. The Ikere–Ilawe Road and the renovated General Hospital are testimonies to a leader who understands that government exists to serve, uplift, and empower the people,” Ododo said.
The Kogi governor lauded Oyebanji’s administration for transforming Ekiti through investments in infrastructure, healthcare, education, and youth empowerment.
He described the 20.65-kilometre Ikere–Ilawe Road as “a bridge to opportunity, growth, and prosperity,” noting that it was a strong example of continuity in governance.
In a statement signed by Kingsley Femi Fanwo, Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Governor Ododo also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his “fearless policies” that strengthened subnational governments to deliver critical infrastructure to citizens.
“Without those bold moves that have redefined the destiny of our nation for good, we may not be witnessing these giant strides that we celebrate today,” Ododo said.
Ododo urged the people of Ekiti State to take ownership of the newly commissioned projects and continue supporting their governor.
He added: “Your performance has thrown the opposition intoconfusion. You represent the will of the Ekiti people. Keep the work going so they can continue to lament.”
The Kogi governor hailed Oyebanji and the people of Ekiti State for their “laudable achievements” and reaffirmed the strong bond between Kogi and Ekiti.
