Gov Adeleke confirms completion of Phase 1 of Ada-Ire Road, promises Phase 2 soon

Governor Ademola Adeleke has assured the student community that work on Ada-Ire Road is progressing, with the first phase now completed and the second phase set to commence shortly.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, the Governor acknowledged the concerns raised by students regarding the state of the road.

He noted that the first section, measuring 1.6 kilometres, has been successfully completed out of the road’s three planned phases.

Governor Adeleke further stated that the second phase will begin soon, underlining the administration’s commitment to ensuring the early completion of the entire stretch.

The statement reads partly: “Our administration is delivering on good governance across the sectors and we appreciate the support of all sections of the Osun society. We must however avoid falling into the trap of desperate politicians who are hell bent on causing mayhem in Osun state.”

While commending the students for their constructive engagement, the Governor directed the Commissioner for Education to maintain active communication with stakeholders on the road project and related matters.

He also lauded the campus groups and the Osun State chapter of the National Association of Osun Students (NAOS) for their patriotic calls on developmental issues.

Governor Adeleke disclosed plans for a stakeholders’ conference in the state, aimed at discussing positive developments and further engagement with citizens on ongoing projects.

He cautioned students and the public against politicising developmental initiatives, stressing that actions undermining peace and progress would not be tolerated.
