Geregu Power Plc appoints Mohammed Sani Jaoji as acting CEO

Geregu Power Plc has announced the appointment of Engr. Mohammed Sani Jaoji as its Acting Chief Executive Officer, effective August 17, 2026.
The company disclosed the leadership transition in a corporate action filing submitted to the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) and the investing public, signed on behalf of the Company Secretary, StructureHQ Limited, by Gbeminiyi Shoda.
The appointment remains subject to regulatory approval by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC).
According to the disclosure, the appointment follows the non-renewal of the tenure of the outgoing Interim Chief Executive Officer, Sean Manley, which concluded on August 14, 2026.
The board expressed its gratitude to Manley for his service and contributions to the power generation company during his tenure.
Engr. Jaoji brings over three decades of professional experience across technical, operational, and leadership capacities within Nigeria’s power sector.
A mechanical engineer by training, he holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and is a registered member of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).
His career history includes significant roles at the defunct National Electric Power Authority (NEPA) and Geregu Power Plc, where he previously served as Head of Maintenance Planning and Performance between 2007 and 2019. He also served as Technical Assistant to the Minister of Power between 2019 and 2023 prior to rejoining Geregu Power Plc.
The Board of Directors stated that Jaoji’s technical expertise and industry background will strengthen the company’s governance structure and strategic direction while the process to appoint a substantive Chief Executive Officer is finalized.
