Fubara backs Chinda, declares political war over

Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has declared that the prolonged political crisis in the state is over, throwing his full support behind Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Kingsley Chinda.

Fubara made the announcement on Tuesday during the groundbreaking ceremony for the Riven Medical Facility, a public-private pharmaceutical project in Rivers State.

Addressing attendees, the governor called on his supporters to embrace peace and unite behind Chinda and all candidates presented by FCT Minister’s, Nyesom Wike’s rainbow coalition ahead of the upcoming elections.

Dismissing suggestions that he should delay his political alignment, Fubara confirmed his full integration into the coalition fold and urged his followers to give their complete backing to the alliance.

He emphasized that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains the leader to support and extended his endorsement to Kingsley Chinda, stating that anyone who believes in his administration must support Chinda and every candidate running under the coalition banner.

The governor stressed that the period of political hostility in Rivers State has come to a definitive end, making way for stability and growth.

Reaffirming his commitment to peace, Fubara stated that he has returned to the political family and will not be party to any actions capable of reigniting disunity in the state.

With the disputes set aside, Governor Fubara highlighted his administration’s shift toward economic development, particularly through strategic partnerships like the Riven Medical Facility.

The first phase of the pharmaceutical factory is targeted for completion within three months, aimed at driving industrialization, generating employment, and positioning Rivers State as a primary hub for medical consumables.

Addressing past governance challenges, the governor revealed that the state is currently managing litigations with several companies involving claims exceeding ₦200 billion.

He assured potential investors that his administration is dedicated to avoiding contractual disputes, protecting investments, and maintaining a favorable environment for business growth across the state.
