Fidelity Bank appoints Ososuakpor as new Non-Executive Director

Fidelity Bank Plc has announced the appointment of Dr. Jonathan Oniovosa Ososuakpor as a Non-Executive Director with immediate effect from May 22, 2026.
In a press statement released on Monday, the Bank said the appointment had received approval from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), while notices had also been communicated to the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) and the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria (FRCN).
It added that the board, “looks forward to working closely with Dr. Jonathan Oniovosa Ososuakpor to achieve the Bank’s strategic objectives.”
According to the statement, Ososuakpor brings more than 40 years of experience in the financial services industry, spanning credit and marketing, retail banking, consumer and commercial banking, public sector banking operations, and risk management.
The veteran banker began his banking career in 1983 with Union Bank of Nigeria Plc and later held positions at several financial institutions, including Gateway Bank, Oceanic Bank, Ecobank Nigeria Plc and Intercontinental Bank Plc, now part of Access Bank Plc.
Before his retirement in July 2025, Ososuakpor served as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of AMJU Unique Microfinance Bank Limited, a role he held from 2012.
He also chaired Universal Finance Consult & Investment Limited between 2007 and 2017, and V-Capital Consulting Limited from 2015 to 2025.
Currently, he serves on the board of Top Rank Oil Services Limited, described by Fidelity Bank as “a leading multifunctional engineering company providing diverse services to the nation’s oil and gas industry, public and private sectors.”
Ososuakpor holds a Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in Banking and Finance from the University of Benin. He also earned Master of Science and Doctorate degrees in Economics from Delta State University, as well as an MBA in Finance from Bangor University.
The Bank further highlighted his professional affiliations, including fellowships of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria and the Institute of Credit Administration.
Fidelity Bank said Ososuakpor is a certified expert in risk management and has attended executive leadership programmes at institutions including the London Business School and the United Nations Institute for Training and Research.
