The Executive Chairman of the Federal Character Commission (FCC), Hon. Hulayat Motunrayo Omidiran, has called for stronger inter-institutional collaboration to promote national unity and inclusiveness across government agencies.

Hon. Omidiran made the call on Tuesday, January 28, 2026, during a courtesy visit to the Accountant-General of the Federation (AGF), Dr. Shamseldeen Babatunde Ogunjimi, at the Treasury House in Abuja.

This marked her first official engagement since being sworn in by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on January 22, 2026.

Accompanied by the full complement of Honourable Commissioners, whom she described as indomitable, Omidiran emphasized that the Office of the Accountant-General is indispensable to national administration.

She reiterated the FCC’s constitutional mandate to enforce equity in all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), noting that the success of the current administration relies heavily on such cooperation.

“Effective governance depends largely on inter-institutional collaboration,” Omidiran stated. “Support from the Treasury House will greatly enhance the Commission’s operational efficiency.”

In his response, the Accountant-General, Dr. Ogunjimi, welcomed the delegation and acknowledged the pivotal role the FCC plays in nation-building.

He affirmed that the operations of the Treasury House rely on the FCC’s oversight to ensure recruitment processes remain transparent, fair, and conducive to national cohesion.

Dr. Ogunjimi assured the Executive Chairman of continued partnership, specifically disclosing that the FCC would be integrated into the team responsible for the upcoming nationwide staff biometric exercise to ensure accuracy and compliance with federal character principles.

The visit concluded with a mutual commitment to accountability and good governance, signaling a renewed focus on inclusiveness under the FCC’s new leadership.
