The Enugu State Government says it will build and equip 260 modern Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) across the 260 wards of the state.

Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, Governor of Enugu State, said in a statement on Monday that the initiative is aimed at bringing healthcare services closer to residents and improving access to basic medical care across communities in the state.

“No family should have to travel miles in search of basic healthcare. No mother should be left without care, and no child should be denied the opportunity to live a healthy life because of where they were born,” he said.

Mbah stated that the project is not only about infrastructure, but also about restoring hope and ensuring access to care, particularly in rural communities.

He added that the government remains committed to building a healthier Enugu State where every resident can access healthcare with dignity and no one is left behind.
