Eni awards 30 post-graduate scholarships to Nigerian graduates

Eni's subsidiary, Nigerian Agip Exploration Limited (NAE), on behalf of NNPC Limited and NAE PSC, has awarded 30 post-graduate scholarships to Nigerian graduates for the 2025/2026 academic year.

The scholarships will enable the beneficiaries to pursue advanced studies at both Nigerian and international universities.

The recipients were chosen from a pool of over 1,500 applicants, with the selection based on their strong academic performance and results from a recent computer-based test.

Ten of the beneficiaries will study at overseas universities, while the remaining 20 will attend Nigerian institutions. Their chosen fields of study include Engineering, Geosciences, Petroleum and Environmental Technology, Energy Economics, Renewable Energy, and Energy Transition.

During the award ceremony in Abuja, Mr. Fabrizio Bolondi, the Vice Chairman and Managing Director of NAE, congratulated the students and emphasized the company's long-term commitment to education and capacity building in Nigeria.

"The award ceremony highlights our continuous commitment to the future of education, innovation, and capacity building in Nigeria," Mr. Bolondi stated.

He encouraged the scholars to take full advantage of the opportunity to develop valuable skills that will benefit the country and its energy sector.

The event was also attended by representatives from NNPC Upstream Investment Management Services (NUIMS), including Mrs. Edith Bunmi-Lawson, Manager of External Relations, and Mr. Paul Duke, Deputy Manager PSC Asset A3.

The scholarship scheme, established in 2007 by NNPC-NAE PSC partners, is a core part of the company's human capital development initiatives.

Its goal is to promote knowledge acquisition and bridge the skills gap in specialized areas critical to Nigeria's deep offshore oil and gas operations. To date, the program has supported 350 graduates, contributing to the development of local professionals with the expertise required for the industry.

Eni, through NAE, has also implemented various other sustainability initiatives in Nigeria, focusing on health, education, water access, infrastructure, and community empowerment. NAE, incorporated in 1996, is a key player in Nigeria's deep offshore exploration and production, holding interests in six deep offshore blocks.
