Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has extended heartfelt Easter greetings to the people of Bayelsa, urging them to embrace the values of love, unity, and reconciliation symbolised by the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
In his Easter message on Sunday, Governor Diri reflected on the celebration’s reminder of hope, renewal, and the ultimate victory of life over death.
“After 40 days of fasting and reflection, Easter serves as a reminder of God’s love and the opportunity we all have to begin anew. It is a time to reconnect with our faith, seek peace, and strengthen the bonds that unite us as a people,” he said.
Governor Diri urged Bayelsans to embody the values that Christ personified—humility, sacrifice, and love—and to integrate these principles into their daily lives.
“As citizens of our beloved state, let us seize this season to promote unity and show kindness to one another. These are the values that create stronger communities,” he remarked.
The Governor also pointed to the steady progress his administration has made in fostering peace and development over the past five years, under the banner of the Government of Prosperity. He acknowledged the state’s ongoing strides in the right direction through a clear vision and consistent efforts.
“We have remained focused on building a peaceful and united Bayelsa. Whether in infrastructure or social programmes, our aim has always been to uplift every corner of the state,” he added.
Concluding his message, Governor Diri shared an optimistic vision for the future: “May this Easter bring joy, peace, and new beginnings to every home. Happy Easter to you all!”
