Most Rev. Henry Ndukuba, the Primate of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), has urged Christians to become active agents of reconciliation and hope in the country.

Ndukuba made the call while delivering his sermon to mark the 2025 Easter celebrations in Abuja on Sunday.

“Peace be with you. I urge you all to be agents of reconciliation and hope for Nigeria and humanity,” he stated.

The Primate also encouraged Christians to repent, return to God, and embrace the gift of salvation through Christ.

In his prayer, Ndukuba sought peace for the troubled regions of Nigeria and the world, highlighting that the resurrection offers hope not only for individuals and families but for the nation and the global community as a whole.

He urged Christians to seek peace, trust in God’s promises, and allow the power of Christ’s resurrection to shape every aspect of their lives.

“The resurrection of Christ offers hope and peace, even in the face of national and global challenges,” Ndukuba said. “It is not only a historical fact but the bedrock of the Christian faith.”

He went on to explain that Easter is not simply a commemoration of an event but a celebration of God’s unwavering faithfulness and the living hope that believers find in Christ.

“Jesus’ victory over death guarantees believers forgiveness, justification, and the strength to overcome both sin and adversity,” Ndukuba affirmed.

“Because He lives, you too shall live,” he declared, encouraging Christians to open their hearts to God’s transforming power, which brings new life and eternal security.
