Dangote Sugar Refinery Plc has announced the appointment of Mr. Mulhim Eltayeb as an Executive Director on its Board, effective 1st December 2025. The appointment, approved by the Board at its meeting on 17th November 2025, will be subject to ratification by shareholders at the Company’s next General Meeting.
Mr. Eltayeb is a distinguished professional with over 35 years of experience, holds a Master’s degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Washington State University, USA, and a postgraduate certificate in Agribusiness from Middlesex University, UK. His career has been primarily focused on strategic and operational management, project delivery, and consulting within the sugarcane agribusiness sector across Africa and globally.
Mr. Eltayeb has managed complex projects spanning North and South America, Africa, and Asia. He has been the Interim Executive Officer for the Africa Sugar Development Taskforce Initiative under the International Sugar Organization (ISO), collaborating with governments, industry players, and development partners to strengthen Africa’s sugar sector. From January 2024 until his appointment, he served as Sugar Backward Integration Program Advisor to Dangote Industries Limited, offering strategic guidance on business improvement and project implementation.
As Executive Director in charge of Backward Integration Program (BIP) Operations, Mr. Eltayeb will oversee the Company’s BIP initiatives, providing strategic direction to advance sector development and sustainable growth within the sugar industry.
