Senator Sunday Stephen Karimi has stated that he will continue his campaign for the 2027 Kogi West senatorial election despite a Federal High Court judgment against his emergence as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate.

Representing Kogi West, Karimi rejected Wednesday’s judgment in a suit filed by Samuel Bamidele Aro challenging the conduct of the party’s senatorial primary.

He described the ruling as unfortunate and contrary to the evidence presented before the court, arguing that the judge had contradicted previous decisions on similar pre-election matters.

Expressing confidence in the judicial system, Karimi stated that he would pursue redress through the appellate process.

He also alleged that Aro did not participate in the APC primary and accused him of presenting fabricated documents to support his case, though these allegations were not independently established.

Attributing the judgment to individuals in the state seeking to protect their control of Kogi’s resources against whom he claimed to have repeatedly spoken, Karimi maintained that he remains strong and undeterred, with his campaign continuing with adequate zeal and vigor.
