Christmas: Ibiyemi lights-up Kanmi community with Solar project, distributes food items

In the spirit of Christmas, Prince Mathew Adesegun Ibiyemi, the Publisher of Nigerian NewsDirect, has illuminated the Kanmi community in Ile-Ife with a solar lighting project.
The commissioning of the project was part of activities marking an end-of-year and Christmas party held at his residence in Kanmi.
Speaking at the event, Prince Ibiyemi revealed that the solar installation was executed in fulfillment of a promise made to the community by his late father, Prince (Dr.) Samuel Ibiyemi, before his passing in 2023.
The late patriarch was a renowned Energy Economist, philanthropist, journalist, and a governorship aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Since his passing, his son, Prince Mathew, has actively sustained his legacy, ensuring that the impact of the Ibiyemi family continues to be felt in the community and beyond through the Samuel Folorunsho Ibiyemi Foundation.
Beyond the infrastructure support, Prince Ibiyemi also utilized the occasion to distribute food items, including rice, spaghetti, and beverages, to community members to help cushion the economic effects of the season.
Reacting to the development, a community leader, Mr. Eludire, applauded Ibiyemi for the initiative.
He noted that the solar lighting project is timely and will significantly strengthen security within the Kanmi community.
Mr. Eludire also used the opportunity to pay glowing tributes to the late Prince (Dr.) Samuel Ibiyemi, noting that the community misses his benevolence and leadership dearly.
The event drew a host of dignitaries and community stakeholders. Guests present included the Chairman of Ife Ooye LCDA, Hon. Ganiyu Egbetunde; the Head of the Agaako Family Compound, Alhaji Ololanyaayi; and Engr. Benjamin Adereti. Also in attendance were APC Ward Chairmen from Ife East, community residents, political associates, and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
