Special Adviser to President Tinubu on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, has taken a swipe at the spokesperson of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Bolaji Abdullahi, following a media engagement where the latter reportedly struggled to articulate the party’s political ideology.

Bwala, in a statement released on Wednesday, described the opposition party as an Association for a wild goose chase, citing the spokesperson’s apparent confusion and aggression when pressed for clarity on what the ADC stands for.

According to Bwala, this was not the first time the question had been posed.

He recalled a previous instance where the spokesperson allegedly admitted the party was still thinking about its ideology.

Bwala noted that during the latest encounter on Wednesday, rather than providing a clear answer, the spokesperson became defensive and combative.

Bwala also ridiculed the spokesperson’s presentation of a book titled Loyalist during the engagement.

He questioned the intellectual substance of an author who serves as the voice of a political party yet cannot define its fundamental vision.

“He came with a book on ‘Loyalist’, but how can readers be convinced there is substance in the book when the author cannot even define the ideology of the party he was appointed to speak for?” Bwala queried.

He concluded that the incident exposes a deep structural flaw within the organization, offering a stark ultimatum regarding the party’s image.

“If the spokesperson doesn’t know the ideology of the party, then it points to one of two things: either the incompetence of the spokesperson or the visionlessness of the party,” Bwala averred.

The ADC is yet to issue an official response to the criticism as at the time of this report.
