Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdukadir Mohammed, has distributed official vehicles to emirs and district heads as part of his administration’s efforts to strengthen grassroots governance and community engagement.

Mohammed, while presenting the vehicles to fourteen newly appointed emirs and 114 district heads at the Government House, noted that the initiative was designed to improve their mobility, expand outreach, and enable them to effectively discharge their responsibilities within their domains.

He added that the support would be sustained across both long-established and newly created emirates, chiefdoms, and districts to ensure inclusive governance in line with the state’s development agenda.

Mohammed emphasized the importance of working closely with traditional rulers to promote peace, stability, and prosperity, even as he urged them to remain non-partisan, uphold integrity as well as staying committed to their duties.

Earlier, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Isa Babayo Tilde, reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to collaborating with traditional institutions, given their vital role in maintaining peace and mobilizing communities.

On his part, the Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu, expressed appreciation to the governor and pledged that the vehicles would be used judiciously.

The distribution included fourteen GMC saloon cars, Toyota buses, Hilux vehicles, and 114 Toyota Camry cars allocated to district heads.
