Bago extols SGF as astute administrator on birthday

Niger State governor, Farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago has extolled the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Sen. George Akume, on his 72nd birthday on the 27th December, 2025 describing him as an astute administrator.

In a birthday message by his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, the farmer governor noted that the SGF has been committed, diligent, and instrumental in ensuring the policies and programmes of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu are effectively implemented.

The Hovernor added that the SGF has demonstrated capacity and competence in the discharge of his duties and encourages him to sustain the tempo.

He said; "the selfless service of Sen. Akume to making Nigeria better and strengthening democracy is not a surprise, as he has a track record of public service from when he was in the Federal Civil Service, where he rose to the peak of his career."

The farmer governor further noted that the celebrant joined politics and became governor of Benue State for 8 years (1999-2007), after which he served as senator from 2007 to 2019 and as a minister from 2019 to 2023 before his appointment as the SGF in 2023.

He prayed for more fulfilling years for the septuagenarian, sound health and wisdom to continue with his selfless service to humanity.
