Philip Ifejimalu Eze, Managing Director of Orimiri Oil and Gas, has been brought before Justice A.H. Musa of the Federal Capital Territory High Court, Apo-Abuja, by the Abuja Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on a one-count charge of fraud involving ₦63 million.

The charge alleges that Eze, in 2024, induced Chief Amech Nduka of Amatex Oil and Gas to supply 45,000 litres of Automotive Gas Oil valued at ₦63,000,000, using a Mainstreet Bank cheque he knew to be from a liquidated account. The cheque was later rejected when presented for payment at Zenith Bank.

The EFCC stated that the offence contravenes Section 1(a) of the Advanced Fee Fraud and Other Related Offences Act, 2006 and is punishable under Section 1(3) of the same Act.

Eze pleaded not guilty when the charge was read, prompting EFCC counsel Mariya Ujudud Shariff to request a date for trial commencement.

Justice Musa granted bail with two sureties, one of whom must be a civil servant of at least Grade Level 12 and provide a letter of introduction verified by the Court Registrar. The second surety must own property within the court’s jurisdiction, swear an affidavit, and sign a ₦2,000,000 bail bond.

The case was adjourned to 11 November 2025 for the start of the trial.
