Army deepens logistics partnership with Elizade to boost operational readiness

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu, has reaffirmed the Nigerian Army’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with the private sector to improve logistics support, fleet sustainment and operational readiness.

Shaibu said this while receiving the management of Elizade Nigeria Ltd. on a courtesy visit to the Army Headquarters, Abuja.

The Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Col. Appolonia Anele, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday.

Represented by the Chief of Policy and Plans (Army), Maj.-Gen. Bamidele Alabi, the COAS said a reliable and mission-ready vehicle fleet remained critical to sustaining combat effectiveness and rapid troop deployment.

He said strategic collaboration with the private sector had become a key force multiplier in enhancing defence capabilities, particularly in fleet management, equipment maintenance, technical support and manpower development.

According to him, such partnerships align with the Nigerian Army’s transformation agenda of building a more agile, technologically enabled and self-reliant force.

Shaibu commended Elizade Nigeria Limited for its sustained support through the supply of vehicles, maintenance services, technical collaboration and industrial training for personnel of military workshop units.

He said the company’s contributions had strengthened the Army’s logistics architecture and improved operational efficiency in safeguarding Nigeria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The COAS also assured the delegation of the Army’s commitment to providing a secure environment that would promote economic growth, encourage investment and strengthen the link between national security and national development.

He added that closer collaboration among the military, government institutions and the private sector was essential for building resilient defence capabilities and sustaining operational effectiveness.

Earlier, the Branch Manager of Elizade Nigeria Ltd. , Mr Adeniji Adeyinka, conveyed the goodwill of the company’s founder, Chief Michael Ade-Ojo, and its management to the Army leadership.

Adeyinka commended the COAS for his leadership and praised the Nigerian Army’s efforts in tackling the country’s security challenges.

He reaffirmed the company’s commitment to expanding its partnership with the Army through enhanced technical support, fleet maintenance services, industrial attachment opportunities and the provision of quality automotive solutions tailored to the Army’s operational needs.
