…CAGS to benefit from Ogun laboratory regeneration intervention – Education Commisoner

The Christ Apostolic Grammar School Old Students Association, Iperu Remo, Ogun State, also known as ApolloGrams, rolled out the drums to celebrate its 65th anniversary and mega reunion, with a call on old students to give back to their alma mater. 

The event, which took place on Saturday within the school premises along Ode Remo Road, was attended by old students from various sets, who converged to reminisce about old times and strategize on the way forward for their beloved institution.

Speaking during the occasion on Saturday, The National President of the association, Armstrong Akintunde reiterated the need for old students to give back to their alma mater. 

He said that the gathering was in relation to the enduring spirit of the school and an opportunity to celebrate its rich history.

The President, also the Chief Executive Officer of Aerofield Homes Limited, acknowledged the immense sacrifice of the school’s founders, the commitment of its teachers, and the pursuit of excellence by its students over the years. 

“We can ensure that the next generation of students enjoys even greater opportunities than we did. Let us use this occasion to foster unity, deepen our commitment to the school’s development, and reaffirm our support to its mission,” he said. 

The old students commissioned a renovation of the gates and two buses one of which is Apollograms jet. 

Also, the Chairman, Planning Committee, Rotarian Dayo James Akerele, said that event was not merely a social gathering, but a deliberate effort to reconnect with the school’s rich history and contribute to its development. 

“We’re intending, immediately after the end of this event, we’re going to start with the infrastructural development, as well as improving the educational standards,” he said.

Akerele revealed the association’s future plans, which include elevating the school to a higher pedestal of academic excellence.

In the same vein, The Ogun State Government has announced plans to regenerate science laboratories in its flagship schools, including Christ Apostolic Grammar School, Iperu Remo. 

This was disclosed by the Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Professor Abayomi Arigbabu, while representing Governor Dapo Abiodun at the anniversary celebration. 

According to Arigbabu, “Christ Apostolic Grammar School Grammar School is one of the schools that will benefit from the intervention of laboratory regeneration. All the science laboratories in our flagship schools are being built in it.”

“We call this type of classroom smart classrooms. Christ Apostolic Grammar School is one of the schools that benefit from that,” he said.
